North Florida and FGCU Secure Spots in the ASUN Women's Tennis Championship Final

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida and FGCU are set to faceoff in the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Tennis Championship, Friday evening. 

#1 North Florida 4, #5 North Alabama 0
The North Florida Ospreys maintained their undefeated season with a 4-0 sweep over North Alabama. UNF took an early lead by clinching the Doubles point with identical 6-1 victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. In Singles competition, the Ospreys secured the win with straight-set victories from Laurie Barendse, Gabby Goyins, and Anslee Long. Three Singles matches were left unfinished once the team victory was clinched. With this win, North Florida advances to the championship final to compete for the title and the opportunity to be the only undefeated NCAA Division 1 Women's Tennis team in the nation. 

#3 FGCU 4, #2 Lipscomb 2 
FGCU secured a 4-2 victory over Lipscomb to advance to the championship final. The Eagles claimed the Doubles point with wins from the pairings of Nora Svensson/June Bjork and Afr Burillo Berezak/Ashley Matz. In Singles play, Cecilie Maeland, Sabrina Jaramillo, and Anjali Kotecha earned the necessary points to clinch the match. Despite Lipscomb finding success at the top two Singles positions, the match concluded when Kotecha finished her three-set battle with a 6-4 win in the final frame.
