JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – FGCU's Svensson and North Florida's Scott have been named this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Tennis Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office.
FGCU's Nora Svennson was named Player of the Week on the Women's side. She posted a 3-0 record on the weekend including two Singles wins and one Doubles win. She defeated Harvard's Stephanie Yakoff who is currently ranked No. 80, 6-2,6-2 before defeating No. 75 ETSU's Ksenija Rage 4-6,7-5,6-0 to clinch the match for the Eagles in their first win over a ranked opponent.
UNF's Andreas Scott claimed Player of the Week on the Men's side. He went 3-0 on the weekend against James Madison and Lipscomb. On court one, he secured a 6-3,6-2 against JMU before secruing a 6-2,6-2 win against Lipscomb also from the top flight. Scott's performance helped the Ospreys improve to 9-3 at home this season.
