JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – FGCU and Queens earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Baseball honors, announced Monday by the league office.
FGCU's Jon Embury was named Player of the Week. In his 12 at bats, he recorded six runs and hits as well as three RBI and one homerun. The Eagles' Evan Dempsey and Queens' Joey Ruller were named Pitcher of the Week. Dempsey threw a complete game shutout and walked just one batter. He struck out 24 batters to help the Eagles to a 7-0 record. Ruller pitched 7.0 innings, all of which were scoreless. He allowed just one hit and struck out five batters.
