JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – FGCU's Emma Bjoernholdt was named the 2024-25 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year, announced Wednesday by the league office. The graduate student headlines the 12-person Academic All-ASUN Team.
Bjoernholdt boasts a 3.9 GPA while pursuing her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The Denmark native earned a silver medal at last month's ASUN Championship in the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:53.87. She secured two additional top-15 finishes to help the Eagles to a runner-up performance.
The Academic All-ASUN Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both in competition and in the classroom. All members of the team boast a 3.50 cumulative GPA or better and participated in at least half of their team's contests.
