ASUN Announces 2024 Annual Awards; North Florida Wins Academic Trophy

ATLANTA - With the 2023-24 Atlantic Sun Conference academic year concluded, the league announced its annual accomplishments and honors during a Thursday ceremony at One Ocean Resort in Jacksonville, Fla. The awards were voted on and selected by various groups including the Faculty Athletic Representatives, Senior Woman Administrators, and conference office staff.

Event host Richard Miller announced Queens' Sophie Lange and Jacksonville's Jacob Greiner as the Female and Male Student-Athletes of the Year, respectively. At the same time, Ida Ferding (FGCU) and Caroline Kraemer (Queens) received the Postgraduate Scholarships. North Florida was recognized as having the highest Academic Progress Rate (APR) while Kennesaw State had the league's most improved APR.

With a conference-best 89.39% of student-athletes earning at least a 3.0 GPA during the 2023-24 academic year, North Florida earned its first ASUN Conference Academic Champion Trophy in program history. In the 24th year of the ASUN Honor Roll, the 2023-24 season marked the seventh time in the last eight countable seasons in which 70% or more of student-athletes collected Honor Roll status with 80.49% hitting the mark. Ten ASUN institutions registered at least 75% of their student-athletes on the honor roll with seven boasting over 80%.

Across all sports, 16 reached at least 75% for honor roll recognition with Women's Swimming & Diving (96.12%), Women's Golf (92.71%), Beach Volleyball (92.54%), Women's Lacrosse (91.22) and Women's Tennis (90.82%) coming in at over 90%. In total, 3,214 ASUN Conference student-athletes registered at least a 3.0 GPA for the 2023-24 academic year.


A total of 26 teams had every player named to the ASUN Honor Roll list led by four squads from Austin Peay and Stetson. Below is a breakdown of those teams:
