JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) has announced the weekly award winners for Men's Soccer, Swimming & Diving, Women's Soccer and Volleyball for Monday, September 28.
MEN’S SOCCER
Player of the Week: Rafael Esteves Machado, West Florida
Rafael Esteves Machado earned the Player of the Week honor. He recorded an assist on each of the Argonauts three goals in their 3-0 shutout of Queens.
Defensive Player of the Week: Tarik Freire, North Florida
Tarik Freire was named Defensive Player of the Week. He helped North Florida to a 2-0 week that saw shutout victories against Trinity College of Jacksonville and Stetson.
Goalkeeper of the Week: Luciano Natoli, North Florida
Luciano Natoli was named Goalkeeper of the Week after recording four saves in 90 minutes against Stetson to help the Ospreys improve to 4-0-0 in ASUN play this season.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Player of the Week: Taylor Tamares, North Florida
Taylor Tamares was named Player of the Week after recording a goal in the 85th minute to earn the draw for North Florida against Bellarmine. The junior assisted on the game-winning goal against Lipscomb on Sunday.
Defensive Player of the Week: Hanna Philips, FGCU
Hanna Phillips was named Defensive Player of the Week. Philips anchored a backline that did not allow a goal on the week in matches against Queens and West Florida.
Goalkeeper of the Week: Madera Bome, FGCU
Madera Bome tallied 171:31 minutes on the week in a shutout victorya against Queens and a 0-0 draw with West Florida to earn Goalkeeper of the Week.
VOLLEYBALL
Player of the Week: Kaili Doctor, North Florida
Kaili Doctor was named Player of the Week after leading North Florida to a five-set victory against Jacksonville., The senior recorded 21 kills, and a .381 hitting percentage. She added 22.0 points and 10 digs.
Defensive Player of the Week: Payton Parsons, Bellarmine
Payton Parsons was named Defensive Player of the Week. She recorded a match-high 15 digs in the Knights' 3-0 sweep of Lipscomb.
Setter & Freshman of the Week: Maddie Carnes, Bellarmine
Maddie Carnes was named both Setter and Freshman of the Week. She recorded a match-high 31 assists with three service aces, three kills and three digs to help Bellarmine earn its first program win against Lipscomb.
Swimming & Diving
Men's Swimmer of the Week: Kade Snyder, Delaware
Delaware's Kade Snyder was named Swimmer of the Week. He recorded three wins for the Fightin' Blue Hens including two individual victories in the 100-back and 200-back. He led Delaware to a first-place finish in the 400-free relay.
Men's Diver of the Week: Paxton Martinez, Delaware
Paxton Martinez earned Diver of the Week. He won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive events and recorded 18 points on the day to help Delaware secure the 177.5-122.5 win.
Women's Swimmer of the Week: Maddie Foster, Queens
Maddie Foster earned three wins this weekend to be named Swimmer of the Week. She earned first-place finishes in the 200-free, 200-free relay and 100-fly.
Women's Diver of the Week: Gab Elk, Delaware
Gab Elk was named Diver of the Week. She finished first in the 1-meter before claiming second place in the 3-meter. The freshman recorded 13 points in Delaware's 193-107 win against Towson.
