ATLANTA - Following Saturday's contests, the eight-team field has been determined for the 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Baseball Championship. This year's event, which begins on Tuesday, May 21, is hosted by Stetson for the second year in a row in DeLand, Fla.
Austin Peay enters as the #1 seed after going 20-10 in league play to win the program's first ASUN Regular Season Championship. FGCU and Stetson also earned 20-10 conference marks to claim their shares of the title.The remaining teams that qualified for the postseason are Central Arkansas, EKU, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State and Lipscomb.
The format of this year's championship features the qualifying teams split into four-team pools based on RPI. The Governors earned a spot in Pool A by virtue of their regular-season crown and will be joined by the three teams with the highest RPI. The remaining four teams comprise Pool B. The first four days of the championship (May 21-24) features competition within the two groups of teams. Pool A competes in a round robin schedule while Pool B plays out a double-elimination bracket. The top three teams after the Pool A round robin and the Pool B bracket winner make up the four teams who battle it out in the semifinals Saturday, May 25, and the championship final on Sunday, May 26.The entire 2024 Baseball Championship streams live on ESPN+.
