CONWAY, Ark. - Central Arkansas now sits atop the standings through eight events at the 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The Bears have totaled 74 points, putting them ahead of their closest competitor Kennesaw State (67) by seven points. Lipscomb sits in third with 60 points, followed by Queens (37) and Jacksonville (36).
Emilija Kusic of Queens earned the first gold medal of the day winning the Heptathlon with a total of 5051 points. The Royals earned another first-place finish as Lucy Walliker won the High Jump with a clearance of 1.79m. The duo of Leonie Saurer (3,000m Steeplechase) and Aislinn McElhaney (Long Jump) recorded gold medals for the Bisons. Alyssia Richard claimed the first gold medal of the championship for Jacksonville.
The final day of the 2024 Championship opens with the Javelin at 11:30 AM CT followed by the final two field events, the Discus and Triple Jump. The final 10 running events will start at 6:10 PM CT with the 4x100-Meter Relay and conclude with the 4x400-Meter Relay to wrap up the action at 8:55 PM CT. The championship awards presentation begins immediately after the conclusion of the 4x400 Relay.
