ATLANTA - Six Women's ASUN Conference Outdoor Track and Field teams had athletes qualify for the NCAA East Preliminaries and will compete May 24-27. A total of 26 ASUN student-athletes compete with Liberty leading the way by sending seven individuals to Jacksonville, Fla.
The four-day event, which will determine the qualifiers for the 2023 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championship, begins on May 24 at 10 a.m. with the Men's Hammer Throw. All Men's events occur on May 24 and 26, with the Women's events scheduled for May 25 and 27. The 2023 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championship is contested June 7-10 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas. The top 12 finishers in each event in Jacksonville will advance to Austin, along with the top 12 finishers from the NCAA Division I West Preliminary Round meet, slated for next week in Sacramento, Calif.

Austin Peay at NCAA Regionals (2 qualifiers)
- The Govs are sending two athletes to NCAA East Prelims in Kenisha Phillips (400m) and Karlijn Schouten (Pole Vault)
- Phillips took gold at the ASUN Championship last weekend in Jacksonville, setting a new 400m record during prelim at 53.25; that time ranks 32nd in the East Region in the event
- Schouten enters the NCAA East Regional coming off a runner-up finish at the conference championship with a 3.96m clearance; her best mark of the season came at the Indiana Invitational in April when she cleared 4.14m
EKU at NCAA Regionals (2 qualifiers)
- After winning the bronze medal in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the ASUN Championship, Anouk Van Gils represents the Colonels at the NCAA East Regional as she comes in with her season-best time of 10:23.19 (Penn Relays)
- Jone Zabaleta-Larranaga qualified to compete in the 10,000m as she ran a time of 33:55.24 at the Penn Relays; she is one of two ASUN athletes that qualified and is ranked 30th in the East Region
- Van Gils ranks 34th in the East Region coming in and is one of three athletes competing in the 3,000m Steeplechase from the ASUN
Jacksonville at NCAA Regionals (4 qualifiers)
- The Dolphins have four individual qualifiers for the second year in a row; JAX is represented in the High Jump, Steeplechase, Shot Put and 100m
- Hayleigh Haid ranks 18th in the 3,000m Steeplechase after her season-best time of 10:04.34 at the Pepsi Florida Relays while the 2023 ASUN Shot Put Champion, Alyssia Richard, sits 47th with her winning mark of 15.35m
- Kristi Snyman is also making her third straight trip to the NCAA Championship after qualifying for the East Regional to compete in the High Jump with her mark of 1.83m, ranking sixth in the East Region
Kennesaw State at NCAA Regionals (5 qualifiers)
- The three-time ASUN Championship 800m winner Sarah Hendrick qualified to compete in the 800m for the third straight season at the NCAA East Prelims; she is currently ranked fourth in the East Region with a 2:01.93
- Caroline Timm is one of two ASUN athletes to qualify for the 1,500m as she ranks 23rd with her time of 4:16.18 from the Bryan Clay Invitational; Corbin McLean clocked her best time of the season at the UNF East Coast Relays (13.21) to qualify for the 100m Hurdles
- Kali Terza (Hammer) and Kaylee Clark (Javelin) each claimed the champion title in their respective events at the conference championship last week; Terza ranks 12th with her mark of 64.33m while Clark is 17th (49.13m)
Liberty at NCAA Regionals (7 qualifiers)
- Liberty is sending seven individuals to compete in the NCAA East Prelims marking the most of any conference squad; the Flames will compete in four field events and four track events
- Isis Brooks, the 100m and 200m 2023 ASUN Champion, is slated to run in both events as she ranks 22nd in the 200m and 33rd in the 100m; Calli Doan also earned gold at the conference championship in the 3,000m Steeplechase which she ranks 13th in the East Region (9:57.15)
- Adelyn Ackley-Fairley (10,000m), Paola Bueno (Hammer), Kali Grayson (Javelin), Annika Hantho (Discus) and Taylen Langin (Pole Vault) also each qualified for NCAA East Prelims
Lipscomb at NCAA Regionals (6 qualifiers)
- The Bisons are sending six athletes to compete in Jacksonville, the second-most of the ASUN squads; Lipscomb is represented in the 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m, 10,000m, High Jump and Long Jump
- Kiara Carter is set to return to the NCAA East Prelims after recording a time of 2:04.51 in the 800m earlier this season to earn her spot; Lydia Miller and Colbi Borland are both hitting the track in the 5K ranking 14th and 20th, respectively, in the East Region
- Aislinn McElhaney qualified with her record-breaking performance in the Long Jump at the ASUN Championship boasting a winning leap of 6.37m
