Men's Soccer All-ASUN Team Announced

ATLANTA - Lipscomb's Tyrese Spicer, highlighted the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Soccer postseason honors after he garnered the Player of the Year accolade with a unanimous vote. Bellarmine's Brock Pope (Defensive Player of the Year) and Matthew Brozovich (Goalkeeper of the Year) collected a pair of superlative honors apiece while Stetson's Xavi Csato earned Freshman of the Year. The Bisons' Charles Morrow took home the Coach of the Year recognition following the Lipscomb's fifth ASUN Regular Season Championship.

Spicer's Player of the Year honor marks the fourth time in school history that a Bison has received the award. He leads the conference with 13 goals and added three assists for an ASUN-leading 29 points. The Trinidad & Tobago native scored at least one goal in 10 straight games. The junior was named to the MAC Hermann preseason watch list and was a Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week honoree on Sept. 12.

Pope anchored the back line for the Knights with starts in all 14 of the squad's matches. Despite being a defender, he leads the team in points (10), and assists (6) and is tied for third in the conference for assists. The Texas native logged 1,129 minutes where he spearheads a defense that ranks first in ASUN in goals-against average (1.27). 

Brozovich earned a shutout in three games played this season. He was the 2023 ASUN Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year and earned three Goalkeeper of the Week selections. The St. Louis, Mo., native amassed a season-high eight saves against Jacksonville, seven against Lipscomb and five against both Queens and FGCU. The senior ended the regular season tied for first within the ASUN in shutouts (3) while ranking secnd in goals-against average (1.32) and save percentage (.727).

Csato earned the Stetson program its third Freshman of the Year accolade. In his first season on the pitch for the Hatters, he tallied a team-high five assists after registering two multi-assist games including the 3-1 win against Lipscomb. The Florida native recorded a season-high four points in the win against St. Thomas on Sept. 1 (1 goal, 2 assists). His goal against the Tommies was one of his two on the year, the other being the team's lone goal against UCF on Aug. 27.

Morrow was tabbed the Coach of the Year in the ASUN for the fourth time in his career following the Bisons' fifth regular-season title. He helped the Bisons earn an 8-3-4 record and led his team to be ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Regional Rankings all season. Lipscomb enters the 2023 ASUN Championship as the top seed and looks to capture the program's fifth conference crown.
