ATLANTA – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced on Wednesday that North Florida's Aidan O'Gorman highlighted the seven-person 2023 Academinc All-ASUN Team as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year honoree. He is the second Osprey to earn the honor with Nathan Jubran being the first in the 2021 Spring season.
O'Gorman, a native of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., holds a 3.62 GPA as he is pursuing his degree in Coastal Engineering. The senior was the second overall finisher at the 2023 ASUN Championship finishing the 8k race with a time of 24:17.85. Following his performance at the event, he was named First Team All-ASUN. The fifth-year senior has earned Academic All-ASUN honors a total of three times in his career along with four top-14 finishes at the conference meet.
The Academic All-ASUN Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. All members of the team boast a 3.50 cumulative GPA or better and participated in at least half of their team's meets.
