ASUN Beam Video Series: Liberty's Hop on Pop Reading Day

ATLANTA, Ga. - In the third year of the ASUN Beam Video Series, the conference features student-athletes across the league that have embodied the four different conference beams of Students First, Rise, Connect and Impact. Throughout this year, the ASUN will feature student-athletes from each institution that epitomize the conference's beam of Connect as they have devoted time to community service efforts on their campuses or local communities. Each video feature highlights different initiatives on the nine league campuses in which student-athletes and staff have worked to Connect with their community.

Liberty's student-athletes devoted their time to the Hop on Pop Reading Day, which combines a book drive to local elementary schools and also a chance for Flames' student-athletes to spend time with children reading to them in their classroom. The event began in spring 2017 in memory of William "Bill" Beitz, the father of Liberty Senior Associate Athletics Director – Academic Affairs Kristie Beitz. Now in its fourth year, Hop on Pop Reading Day has grown each year.
