INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA conducted its Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meeting this past weekend at its national office. The ASUN Conference was represented by its DI SAAC Representative and North Florida’s Ashley Cozad.
Cozad enters her fourth year as a member of ASUN SAAC and her second summer attending on behalf of the league at the DI SAAC meeting.
“I am so excited going into year two of serving as the Division I SAAC Representative for the ASUN Conference," the Swimming and Diving student-athlete said. "One of the biggest adjustments is going to be accurately informing ASUN SAAC Representatives of legislation and forming positions on national issues such as Name, Image and Likeness."

The theme of this year's meeting was uniting voices and shaping change. The group addressed important topics such as the transfer windows, NIL, student-athlete engagement and mental health. The DI SAAC reps also volunteered at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana. Established in 1980, the food bank has developed programs and partnerships dedicated to leading the fight against hunger in central Indiana. Gleaners and SAAC volunteered in a location that has been identified as a food desert where they handed out groceries to over 1,000 families during their community service opportunity.
Cozad graduated this past spring from UNF, and will begin the 2023-24 year as a graduate student and a member of the Opsrey Swimming and Diving team.
