Atlantic Sun Conference Introduces Student-Athlete Feedback Forum

ATLANTA - The Atlantic Sun Conference revealed the formation of the ASUN Student-Athlete Feedback Forum, a platform that will allow student-athletes within the league an opportunity to identify areas of growth or change for the betterment of their particular sport.

As designated by the ASUN Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), one conference captain will be identified for each sport. These captains are tasked with gathering feedback and discussion items from other student-athletes across the membership to guide conversation during an annual, postseason Student-Athlete Feedback Forum. This forum focuses on three main modules: regular-season play, championship play and overall student-athlete experience. All feedback is filtered up to coaches and administrators by ASUN sport administrators through a standing SAAC update on annual head coaches committee policy meeting agendas.

“For years, the Atlantic Sun Conference has been meeting and exceeding the NCAA’s pending requirements relative to student-athlete voice within the governance structure," said ASUN Commissioner Jeff Bacon. "The development of the ASUN Student-Athlete Feedback Forum will take our student-athlete’s voice to the next level, allowing them to actively participate in the conversation about issues that impact their collegiate experience.”

With the exception of spring sports being broken down across two SAAC calls, Student-Athlete Feedback Forums are scheduled based on playing season following the conclusion of a sport’s ASUN Championship and prior to that sport’s ASUN head coaches committee policy meeting. The sport breakdown and timeline is listed below.

Student-Athlete Feedback Forum Schedule
December Meeting - M/WSOC, VB
April Meeting - M/WSWIM, M/WBB
May Meeting (Spring Individual Sports) - M/WGOLF, M/WTEN, BVB, M/WXCTF
June Meeting (Spring Team Sports) - M/WLAX, SB, BSB

Any student-athlete affiliated with a campus SAAC is invited and encouraged to participate in the session designated for their sport.
