Jacksonville, Fla. - Kennesaw State won the 2016 Atlantic Sun Track and Field Men's Outdoor Championship with a total team score of 254. It marks the fourth consecutive Outdoor title for the Owls. Kennesaw State senior Andre Dorsey earned Most Valuable Performer honors for the fourth time in his career.

Bilal Abdullah continued what he started yesterday by opening the day with a new Decathlon superlative in the 110 Meter Hurdles. Abdullah's time of 14.31 bested his mark of 14.63 last year that was previously the ASUN best for the Decathlon. Abdullah now leads the overall Decathlon scores with a total of 4859.

Martynas Sedys earned Kennesaw State's fourth gold with a win in the Hammer throw at a distance of 61.72 meters, 6.8 meters further than second place. Sedys has now won the event in four straight years and holds the top-four numbers in Championship history. This mark slides in at fourth-best all-time. NJIT's Michael Haraka (43.95 meters) placed third to earn the Highlanders first medal of the Championship. 

Abdullah placed second or better in all 10 Decathlon events to take the gold and set a new Championship Record with a score of 7286. The senior beat his own mark from last year of 7145 to set the record. It also marks the best Decathlon score in the history of Hodges Stadium. Abdullah has now won the event in back-to-back years and gives the Owls their third champion in the last four years. 

North Florida's Bobby Harris claimed the gold in the High Jump with a Championship Record leap of 2.17 meters. Andre Dorsey earned the silver and also jumped 2.17 meters but due to misses Harris' was given the gold. The previous record of 2.16 meters was set by Dorsey in 2014. 

Kennesaw State earned the gold medal in the 4x100 relay with a time of 41.50. The team consisted of Terrell Singleton, Sean Blassingame, Zac Davis and Andre Dorsey. It marks the third consecutive year that the Owls have won the event. 

Two Ospreys placed in the top-three in the 1500 Meters to earn North Florida 16 team points. Nick Morken took home the gold with a time of 3:50.76 while teammate Tyler Stahl placed third with a time of 3:53.47. Morken has now the event in back-to-back years. 

Wayne Newman earned Lipscomb its first Men's gold with a very close victory in the 110 Meter Hurdles. After tying the Championship Record in the prelims with a 13.96 mark Newman ran a 14.09 as did KSU's Terrell Singleton. It went to the finish line cameras to determine the winner and Newman proved to cross slightly before. Newman's official time came in at 14.081 with Singleton crossing at 14.088. 

North Florida's Desmond Robb brought home the gold at his own home stadium in the 400 Meter dash with a time of 47.99. His win marks the first time that the Ospreys have won the event at the ASUN Championship. Last years gold medalist, KSU's Zac Davis, came in second place with a time of 48.01. 

Dorsey claimed the gold in the Javelin throw with a distance of 52.94 meters. His win marks the first-ever Owls victory in the event at the ASUN Championship. The top-three was rounded out by two Highlanders; David Singer (50.77m) and Frankie Primerano (49.38m).

Blassingame followed up his performance in the 4x100 relay with a gold-medal time in the 100 Meter dash. The sophomore clocked a time of 10.85 to edge out USC Upstate's Patrick Jamison for first-place. It marks the third consecutive year that Kennesaw State has claimed the event. 

Ryan Speer of Lipscomb clocked a 1:52.60 in the 800 Meters to grab the gold. Speer pulled away down the stretch to pass North Florida's Rayford James (1:53.45) and Taylor Sumapang (1:53.46). 

Newman earned his second gold of the day with a Championship Record time of 51.59 in the 400 Meter Hurdles. The previous mark of 51.61 was set back in 2009 by Campbell's Harold Sims. It is the first win in the event for the Bisons since 2013. 

Fabeon Tucker struck gold in the Discus with a distance of 48.73 meters. Teammate Chuck McConville joined him on the podium with a mark of 42.13 meters while Lipscomb's Stephen Gibson placed second at 42.86 meters. It is the Owls second win in the event in the last five years. 

Dorsey continued his successful second day with a win in the Triple Jump. The senior earned the gold with a leap of 15.38 meters, .13 meters further than teammate freshman Dayo Akindele who placed second. USC Upstate's Desman Martin rounded out the top-three with a distance of 14.30 meters. 

Blassingame and Jamison continued their rivalry from the 100 Meter dash in the 200 Meters with Blassingame once again claiming the gold. The Owl sophomore edged out the Spartan sophomore by .47 seconds, 21.52 to 21.99.

North Florida took the top two spots in the 5000 Meter with Nick Morken claiming his second gold of the day. His time of 15:09.77 earned him gold over teammate Manny Velasquez (15:10.30). 

Kennesaw State finished the night off with a gold medal in a very close 4x400 relay. The Owls clocked in at 3:13.61, just .21 faster than third place USC Upstate. North Florida slid in at 3:13.80 to claim second. It is the third consecutive year that Kennesaw State has won the event. 

Andre Dorsey earned Most Valuable Performer honors with a individual point total of 48.5. It is the fourth time that Dorsey has earned the honor in his career. He earned gold medals in the Triple Jump, Javelin and Long Jump as well as a member of the Owls 4x100 relay team. He also earned silver medals in the High Jump and the Shot Put. His High Jump silver medal performance was also set the new Championship Record.

Kennesaw State claimed the Outdoor title for the fourth straight year as they won 12 of the 21 events including 10 on the final day. They had the Decathlon champion in Bilal Abdullah as well as taking gold in both the 4x100 relay and the 4x400 relay. 

North Florida earned the runner-up spot with six gold medals and a team score of 132.
