Bridges Makes it Two-in-a-Row for Bulldogs

MACON, Ga. - Gardner Webb's Kelly Bridges set a school record in the pole vault over the weekend, earning the Atlantic Sun Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week award, the conference announced on Wednesday. She is the second-consecutive Gardner-Webb athlete to take the honor.

Bridges, a junior from Lilburn, Ga., vaulted over the 12-00.00 (3.66m) mark at the Liberty Twilight Meet in Lynchburg, Va. Her personal-best effort topped her own Gardner-Webb record of 12-00.00 (3.65m). The athletic training major placed third in the event and now owns the best mark in the A-Sun this season.

The Atlantic Sun Conference is a 12-member league committed to Building Winners for Life, with a focus on academic and athletic integrity and a balance between the two for the student-athlete, and maintaining a high level of sportsmanship. Karlyn Duncan, Cam (Jr. - Sprinter - Business Admin./Accounting - Winston Salem, N.C.) - Placed second in the 200 meters (24.85) and fifth in the 400 meters (55.76) at the Patriot Open Invitational.
