JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - FGCU’s Olivia Black was named 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Black highlighted an Academic All-ASUN Team of 48, announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Black boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA while pursuing her Master’s Degree in Forensic Studies with a concentration in Human Identity and Trauma Analysis. An Allstate Spring Good Works Team finalist, Black was inducted into the FGCU Student Hall of Fame in April for her numerous community service involvements. On the field, Black is tied for the FGCU Division I career steals record and currently leads the team in stolen bases (14), hits (44) and batting average (.328) this season.

The Academic All-ASUN recognizes student-athletes who excel both in competition and in the classroom. All student-athletes named to the list boast a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
