JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida’s Allison Benning has been named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-America Softball Second Team, as announced Tuesday by the College Sports Communicators.

Benning was named the ASUN Academic Player of the Year earlier this year. The senior holds a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a degree in Communications. On the diamond, she played a key role in guiding the Ospreys to their first-ever ASUN Tournament Championship, defeating EKU. The Lake Elmo, Minn., native held a 24-5 record, including eight complete games and a 1.51 ERA. 

The 2025 Academic All-America® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
