JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — North Florida earned three superlative recognitions while Central Arkansas claimed two to highlight the 2025 Atlantic Sun Conference Softball postseason honors, announced Wednesday by the league office.
The Ospreys' Allison Benning was named both Player of the Year, and Pitcher of the Year. At the plate, she recorded 15 multi-hit games, 56 hits, 50 RBIs, 45 runs scored and 19 home runs. All of which, led UNF this season. The Lake Elmo, Minn., native broke the North Florida Softball single-season and career home run record in the same weekend, against River City rival, Jacksonville. In her 34 appearances on the mound, she notched a 1.51 ERA, 169 strikeouts and pitched a total of 153.0 innings. Benning holds a 24-5 record, including eight complete games, and one save. The senior spun the programs' second perfect game against Siena this season. Benning and the Ospreys were led by 2025 ASUN Coach of the Year Jeff Conrad who is in his 4th season at the reigns. He coached the Ospreys' to the Graphite Division Championship and top seed in the ASUN Championship. His team recorded a 45-13 overall record, going 22-2 in conference play and only dropped six home games throughout the season. Conrad reached a career milestone of 100 wins during the River City Rumble against Jacksonville.
Two Bears', Madi Young and Addie Graham earned Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectivly. Young recorded 110 putouts and 112 assists this season. She turned 21 double-plays. The Derby, Kan., native had season-highs of seven putouts, nine assists and two games of ten-plus chances with zero errors. In her first year, Graham had 68 hits, and a .389 batting average. She recorded 12 doubles and three homeruns. The Arlington, Tenn., native had 20 games with multiple hits, and a 10-game hitting streak, nine of which, had multiple RBIs.
