APSU, UCA & FGCU Win ASUN Women's Basketball Weekly Awards

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Central Arkansas' Leah Mafua, FGCU's Lauryn Taylor and Austin Peay's Sa'Mya Wyatt earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Basketball honors, announced Monday by the league office.

Mafua averaged 22.5 points on 52% shooting to help extend the Sugar Bears' winning streak to ten, including six straight on the road. She tallied a career-high 24 points against Jacksonville last Thursday then followed up with 21 last Saturday against North Florida. Taylor recorded back-to-back double-doubles last week to keep FGCU undefeated in conference play. The South Carolina native notched 16 rebounds with 10 points at Bellarmine then tallied a team-high 14 points and 11 boards at EKU. Wyatt combined for 29 points over the week in matchups against Queens and Lipscomb highlighted by an 18-point performance against the Bisons. She had 11 rebounds in the two games along with two steals and two assists.
