JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Central Arkansas' Jade Upshaw, FGCU's Lauryn Taylor and EKU's Liz Freihofer earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Basketball honors, announced Monday by the league office.
Upshaw averaged 21.5 points per game over the two games, scoring 31 points at home to open the weekend. Over two games, she shot 15-of-27 from the field and 9-of-16 from three, with seven threes coming in her 31-point outing. She helped the Sugar Bears go 2-0 and set a new program record for three-pointers against a Division I opponent. Taylor recorded back-to-back double figure games and led FGCU to a 4-0 start in league play. She had a double-double performance at North Florida with 13 points and 14 boards then tallied a team and game-leading 16 points at Jacksonville. Freihofer scored 28 points with 18 rebounds, four assists, and two steals on the week, including the first double-double of her career against North Alabama. She also had eight points and six rebounds in a loss to West Georgia earlier in the week.
