ATLANTA – Central Arkansas' Javier Ramirez, Queens' Caleb Woodard and Stetson's Andres Mata earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Soccer honors, announced Monday by the league office.
Mata was named Player of the Week after scoring the go-ahead goal in the Hatters' conference opener against North Florida. The 12th goal of his career came in the 56th minute of the contest, led to a 2-1 Stetson win. Defensive Player of the Week Woodard helped the Royals to a 1-0-1 week that included a scoreless draw against defending league champion, Lipscomb. He netted his first career goal in last Tuesday's 2-1 victory on the road at Radford. Ramirez earned his third Goalkeeper of the Week honor this season after the Bears defeated Bellarmine, 1-0, to begin conference play. He made six saves in the win and picked up his league-high fourth shutout of the fall.
