David Miller was named the Director of Broadcast Communications for the ASUN Conference on January 18, 2023, after working on the athletics staff at Eastern Kentucky University since 2014. While at EKU, he led the charge for EKUSports Communications’ video effort and was responsible for shooting, editing and archiving video footage. He also conducted pre-game and post-game player and coach interviews.

 

As EKU transitioned to ESPN+, he assisted in the planning and installation of a central control with a mobile component to allow for more productions and a more efficient set-up and breakdown. He helped foster a partnership with EKU's Department of Communications to get hands-on experience for the students as he evaluated talent and recruited co-op students to assist with EKU Athletic productions. 

 

He served in various roles within EKU athletics during his time as a student at EKU. Prior to graduating from Eastern Kentucky in May 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting and Electronic Media, he began working with Colonel athletics in 2011 as a cameraman for EKU media.

 

His duties later expanded as he served as a public address announcer and a play-by-play broadcaster for numerous EKU athletic events. His talent was evident as he earned an opportunity to do play-by-play for the Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Championship tournament in 2012.

 

In 2012, he took over the director and producer of EKU athletics broadcasts directing several live camera productions of men’s and women’s basketball games. He was solely responsible for the set-up and breakdown of the video equipment.

 

Miller, his wife Mary and children, Sophie Hazel and David Hamilton, reside in Richmond, Kentucky. He is currently working on finishing his Master's degree in Sports Administration.
