JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Commissioner Jeff Bacon announced two staffing changes Thursday, with William Hall moving to Assistant Commissioner for Sport Administration, and Claire Johnson joining as Director of Strategic Communications.
“Claire Johnson is an outstanding addition to our external team,” said Commissioner Jeff Bacon. “Her experience and strategic approach will play a key role in advancing our brand and ensuring our messaging is impactful. Additionally, I am very excited for William. I look forward to the impact he will have in sport administration and championships.”
Hall begins his new role immediately and will assist in championship administration and operations. He previously served in strategic communications for the conference since he joined the ASUN in August of 2019.
"It is an honor to step into this new role and continue working on behalf of our member institutions,” Hall said. “I am incredibly grateful to Commissioner Bacon for his mentorship and confidence in me, and I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the ASUN."
Johnson will join the ASUN on February 16 and take over as Director of Strategic Communications. She brings a wealth of experience to the conference, most recently having spent nearly five years working with the University of Memphis Athletics Communication Department in a variety of capacities. She will lead the efforts of strategically positioning the conference in communicating and storytelling accomplishments, highlights, and growth.
"I am very excited to be joining the Atlantic Sun Conference and continuing my passion for collegiate athletic communications,” Johnson said. “I am grateful to Commissioner Bacon, Kaitlin Parsons and the entire Atlantic Sun Conference staff for trusting me with this opportunity and I look forward to contributing to the conference’s continued growth and success."
