JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Lipscomb's Kiara Smeltz, Central Arkansas' Joia Perry and Austin Peay's Taylin Segree earned this week's Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Indoor Track and Field awards, as announced Wednesday by the league office.
Smeltz set a new school record in the Mile at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite, finishing with a time of 4:36.85. That time is currently the fastest in the ASUN this season. Perry is currently ranked first in the ASUN for the Weight Throw after her performance at the Washburn Open. Her throw of 18.96m placed her second in the event. Segree earned an 8th place finish in the seeded 400M race with a personal best time of 56.12. She anchored the 4x400 Relay team that ran a season best 3:46.07, the fourth fastest time in program history.
