THE SHORT STORY
In the final home game of the 2025 season, the Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team used an explosive offensive surge to defeat South Carolina State inside Curry Arena. Five different Royals reached double figures Nasir Mann led the charge with a career-high 23 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, and a 9-of-12 mark from the charity stripe.

FROM COACH LEONARD
"The problem on defense is that 20 good minutes isn't enough; we need 40. This group can be special if we decide that our identity is going to start with defense as a group. I'm not sure we have enough guys who individually identify as defensive players. We're very talented, don't get me wrong, but we took our foot off the pedal and allowed them to dictate the second half and how it was going to be played."

BY THE NUMBERS
-Senior Nasir Mann led the Royals in scoring, dropping a career-high 23 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists.
-Forward Carson Schweiger matched his career-high with 17 points, going 5-of-11 from deep in his third straight start.
-Avantae Parker recorded 10 points and five rebounds as well as four blocks across 22 minutes. The four swats tied Gus Larson for the most blocked shots in a game this season by a Royal.
-Freshman guard Isaiah Henry was a spark plug off the bench, adding a season-high 10 points and six rebounds.
-Chris Ashby reached double figures for the ninth game this season with 11 points.
-Yoav Berman found his rhythm, scoring 15 points and dropping four dimes off the bench.
-Despite outscoring the Bulldogs in the paint, Queens was outrebounded 40-38.
-Christopher Parker led South Carolina State with an impressive 10-point and 20-rebound double-double.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
- The Royals recent hot shooting streak continued at the beginning of the game as Queens hit three three-pointers in the first four minutes to take a 13-5 lead at the first media timeout.
-From the 16-minute mark to the 10-minute mark, Queens held South Carolina State to just eight points, highlighted by excellent defensive plays by Isaiah Henry and Yoav Berman.
-Leading 27-13 with 10 minutes to play in the first half, Queens went on a 7-0 run over two minutes capped off by an alley-oop in transition from Yoav Berman to Nasir Mann.
-The Queens defense continued to pester the Bulldogs in the second half as Jordan Watford and Avantae Parker recorded back-to-back blocks before Watford found Parker under the rim for a two-handed slam to take a 59-33 lead at the first media timeout in the second half.
-Holding a 67-45 lead with 13 minutes remaining, the Royals went on a 13-4 run to stretch their advantage to 31 points.

FROM CARSON SCHWIEGER
"The first half was rough, I felt like I got a lot of good looks. But in the second half, everybody kept telling me to shoot the ball. I was down a little bit, but then Jordan Watford hit me for a clean look in the corner, got me another, and then coach got a couple of plays for me and I knocked them down. With the trust that these guys have in me, it's easy for me to play like that."
