THE SHORT STORY
Season-best offensive performance led Lipscomb to a commanding 92-58 victory over Alabama A&M on Sunday afternoon in Allen Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The matchup was back-and-forth early with the teams trading buckets until the first break, but Lipscomb held a slight 10-7 advantage at the first media timeout.

Neither team shot well out of the break, but picked up just before the under-12 timeout as Lipscomb increased its lead 17-10.

Lipscomb continued on a 9-0 run out of the break, capped off by a Kellan Boylan fast break dunk, forcing an Alabama A&M timeout with a 21-10 advantage.

The Bisons' defense continued to hold the Bulldogs to just 27% shooting heading into the final media timeout of the half. Just before the break, Titas Sargiunas converted a traditional three-point play to give Lipscomb a 28-19 lead.

After the Sargiunas free throw, Lipscomb went scoreless for over three minutes, which allowed Alabama A&M to cut the lead 28-26 before Mateo Esmeraldo ended the scoring drought with a contested driving layup.

Esmeraldo kept the hot hand, connecting on a triple with a minute to play. Each team would score a pair of points before the break, but Lipscomb led 35-28.

Out of the locker room, Lipscomb got out to its largest lead of the night, 43-31, with the help of yet another steal and score by the Bisons.

The Bulldogs weren't able to stop the Lipscomb offense, that was seemingly cliquing on all levels, as the Bisons took a 49-34 advantage to the first media timeout of the second half.

The Bisons continued to connect at a high pace, shooting 53% at the 11:04 mark of the second half, increasing its advantage 57-40. Lipscomb then went on a 6-0 run, making the score 63-40, forcing a Bulldogs timeout with 9:41 to play.

Lipscomb continued to dominate down the stretch, leading 84-50 at the final media timeout.

The Bisons went on to defeat Alabama A&M 92-58 for its fifth-straight victory.
