CHARLESTON, S.C. – North Florida Men's Soccer closed out its non-conference slate with its eighth-straight win, blanking College of Charleston, 3-0, at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point on Tuesday night.
With the win, North Florida improves to 9-3 on the season. The eight-straight wins mark the program's longest unbeaten and win streak in program history - regardless of division.
Sophomore midfielder Rafa Rios netted his first collegiate goal on a header off a corner kick delivery from sophomore forward Kaiss Mansouri in the 30th minute. It marked the second-straight match and third assist of the season for Mansouri.
Redshirt senior forward Luc Granitur notched his fifth goal of the season and second-straight match with a goal to extend the margin to 2-0 in the 51st minute. After Mansouri dribbled down the right side of the final third and found senior defender Jaylen Yearwood, Yearwood played the ball into the six-yard box that was sent home by Granitur. The five goals for Granitur match his single-season career-high and extend his career total to 12.
Redshirt sophomore forward Mark Romano sent a strike that froze the goalkeeper for his fourth goal of the season off a double assist from fifth year midfielder Rentaro Miyakawa and junior forward Goffin Oyirworth in the 89th minute. It marked the second assist of the season for both Miyakawa and Oyirworth.
Redshirt junior Luciano Natoli posted three saves and notched his sixth shutout of the season in 90 minutes in goal.
North Florida boasted a 22-11 shot advantage and 7-1 margin in corner kicks.
