ATLANTA – Atlantic Sun Conference Commissioner Jeff Bacon announced Tuesday the addition of Carl Mattox to the conference office staff. Mattox, who spent the past two years with the Sun Belt Conference, joins the ASUN as Assistant Commissioner for Sport Administration.

"His experience, including his time with the talented staff at the Sun Belt Conference, has well prepared him for this opportunity as we continue to build on the fast-paced trajectory of the ASUN and the work that Joe Kaminski, our Senior Associate Commissioner, has done to enhance our sport and championship profile.”
At the Sun Belt, Mattox worked in the Championships department from 2022 to 2024. While there he was responsible for assisting championship administration and operations of all Sun Belt Championship events while working with coaches, officials, campus administration, and the league’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Mattox is a graduate of Mars Hill University with a degree in Business Administration and a master's in management in 2018. He then went on to receive a master's in business administration from The Langdale College of Business in May of 2022. He was a four-year football student-athlete from 2013 to 2016 at Mars Hill and a native of Athens, Georgia. Mattox begins his duties with the league on July 15.
