ATLANTA - North Florida, Central Arkansas and Lipscomb combined to capture superlative recognition to highlight the 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Golf postseason honors, announced Monday by the league office.
The Ospreys' Nick Gabrelcik made ASUN history as the only athlete to earn four Golfer of the Year honors after he posted a 68.4 stroke average while ranking 10th nationally and fourth in the PGA Tour U rankings. The senior won the Gator Invitational and the Williams Cup. Tied a program-record 54-hole score of 13-under 197 (68-65-64) at the Gator Invitational. Gabrelcik also earned seven top-10 finishes in the 10 events he played in this year.
Mark Stockdale was selected as Freshman of the Year after posting a 71.2 stroke average and ranking 247. The England native won the Everett Buick GMC Classic with a 12-under which included a season-best round of 66. At the conference championship, he posted an even par score and finished seventh. Will Brewer earned the Bisons' second Coach of the Year honor in ASUN history after leading his team to the program's first ASUN Men's Golf Championship title. Three of his players earned their way onto the All-Conference Team as the duo of Will Holan and Ford Goldasich were named First Team All-ASUN.
