ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (ksuowls.com) – Isaiah Rogers along with former Owl Daniel Haugh competed in the weight throw at the USATF Indoor Championships on Friday.
Haugh won the event for the second time with a personal-best toss of 25.44m (83'9"). That mark established a new facility record at the Albuquerque Convention Center and was the fourth -farthest weight throw ever.
Rogers took home fifth with a mark of 23.71m (77'1.75"). He was the top collegiate finisher in the event.
"Really proud of Coach Mike Judge and our Owls," Director of Track and Field Cale McDaniel said. "Being the US Champion is a really big deal and Daniel Haugh continues to prove why he is the best man in the US in the hammer and weight throw. I know Isaiah wants more but he and Coach Judge have done a great job and this experience will prove beneficial in two weeks when we return for NCAA Indoor Championships. It's a great day to be an Owl! We will do our best to keep it going tomorrow."
Paris Williams (60m hurdles) and Tyler Blalock (shot put) will compete on Saturday, Feb. 18 in the USATF Indoor Championships.
