ATLANTA - Through Connections in All Directions, the Atlantic Sun Conference is looking to help connect its 12 institutions that span seven states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee). - Dr. Catherine Haase, a professor at Austin Peay State University’s biology department, recently led her lab of graduate students northward to Winnipeg for the North American Society of Bat Research (NASBR) conference to present research and network with a who’s-who of bat experts, researchers, scientists and devotees.

OCEARCH launches shark research expedition from new home at Mayport
- On Nov. 27, 2023, OCEARCH launched Expedition Southeast, its 46th ocean research expedition, from the M/V OCEARCH’s new dock in Mayport, Florida. At 11:30 a.m. OCEARCH and Jacksonville University will gather a group of state and city leaders at the Mayport Waterfront to celebrate the expedition and the ongoing development of OCEARCH Global Headquarters.
