ATLANTA - The Lipscomb Bisons duo of Abigail Alvarado (Track) and Aislinn McElhaney (Field) were joined by Queens' Ines Safont (Freshman) as they eared the season's first set of Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field weekly honors, announced Wednesday by the league office.
Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Abigail Alvarado, Lipscomb
Junior | Laredo, Texas
- First Career Track Athlete of the Week award; 15th all-time for Lipscomb
- Earned a first-place finish in the 400m Dash at the Commonwealth College Opener
- Crossed the finish line with a winning time of 57.00
- Set a new personal and program record in the 400m with her winning time
- Competed against athletes from Louisville, Prairie View, Tusculum and Lenoir-Rhyne

Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Aislinn McElhaney, Lipscomb
Junior | Sevierville, Tenn.
- Second Career Field Athlete of the Week honor; 17th all-time award for the Bisons
- Collected her first podium finish of the year, winning the Long Jump at the Commonwealth College Opener
- Posted a winning mark of 6.18m, setting a new personal best
- The 6.18m mark also set a new Lipscomb program record
- Defeated several athletes from Louisville and Stanford

Women's Indoor Freshman of the Week

- First Career Freshman of the Week award; first all-time honor for the Royals
- Her college debut took place at the Visit Winston Salem College Kickoff
- Earned a fourth-place finish in the women's Shot Put with a mark of 14.23m
- The 14.23m mark is second best in Queens' history
- Joins the Royals in Lynchburg, Va. for the three-day Brant Tolsma Invitational from Jan. 18-20
