2026 ASUN Men's Basketball Postseason Honors Announced

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Central Arkanas, Austin Peay, FGCU, West Georgia and North Florida earned individual superlative awards to headline the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Men's Basketball postseason honors announced Tuesday.

Central Arkansas' Camren Hunter was named Player of the Year. He notched 396 points this season and 93 rebounds. He recorded a .528 field goal percentage and shot 82 percent from the line. FGCU junior, Isaiah Malone was named Defensive Player of the Year. He recorded the second most blocks in a single season for the Eagles and leads the leauge with 60. Malone averaged 1.9 blocks per game and notched 21 steals. In conference play, he recorded 13 steals and 4.1 defesnive rebounds per game.

Collin Parker was named Newcomer of the Year after leading the Govs to their first-ever ASUN Regular Season Championship. He averaged 18.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. The forward is second in the conference with a .420 three-point percentage and third in free throw percentage at .826. Fellow Gov, Zyree Collins started nearly every game for the Governors, averaging 13.6 points and 4.3 assists per game to be named Freshman of the Year. He led the ASUN and ranks among the top freshmen nationally with 2.3 steals per contest. West Georgia guard, Josh Smith earned the Sixth Man of the Year honor. He was first in scoring in the ASUN for players coming off the bench, recording 16 points per game which is good for sixth in the ASUN. The Chicago, Ill. native produced 11 20-point performances this season. 

In his second season at the helm, Central Arkansas' John Shulman claimed the Coach of the Year honor. He led the Bears to a 20-11 overall record and a share of the ASUN Regular Season title with a 15-3 conference mark - an 11-game improvement from the 2024-25 season.
