ASUN Announces 2025 Annual Awards; North Florida Wins Academic Trophy

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - With the 2024-25 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) academic year concluded, the league announced its annual accomplishments and honors during a Thursday ceremony at One Ocean Resort in Jacksonville, Fla. The awards were voted on and selected by various groups including the Faculty Athletic Representatives, Senior Woman Administrators, and conference office staff.

Event host Richard Miller announced FGCU's Jaci Carpenter and Jacksonville's Christian Sekanina as the Female and Male Student-Athletes of the Year, respectively. At the same time, Lipscomb's Scott McKenzie and Libby Steinhart received the Postgraduate Scholarships. North Florida was recognized as having the highest Academic Progress Rate (APR) while Central Arkansas had the league's most improved APR. North Florida earned its second consecutive ASUN Conference Academic Champion Trophy.

Male Student-Athlete of the Year: Christian Sekanina, Jacksonville
Postgraduate Scholarship Winners: Scott McKenzie & Libby Steinhart, Lipscomb
