2025 Women's Soccer Postseason Honors Announced

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - FGCU earned three superlative recognitions, including Player of the Year, to highlight the 2025 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Women's Soccer postseason honors, announced Wednesday by the league office.

The Eagles' Erika Zschuppe earned the FGCU program its seventh Player of the Year honor. The senior from Kirtland, Ohio, tallied a league-leading, and NCAA-best, 21 goals this season. The senior is just one of four players nationally to have a first-half hat trick in 2025 and also earned the Midfielder of the Year award. She secured both superlative honors by unanimous selection from the league's head coaches. FGCU also earned its ninth Defensive Player of the Year award with Lauren Dwyer securing the 2025 honor. The senior defender started all 17 games for the Eagles this season and contributed to nine shutouts overal with six of those coming in conference play. Madison Vukas was named the Goalkeeper of the Year and earned the honor for the second time in three seasons for North Alabama. The graduate transfer had nine clean sheets on the season and only allowed 12 goals, both of which were conference bests.

Skylar Cole earned the Freshman of the Year honor after recording five goals and three assists this season. Three of the goals she scored were game-winners and she helped Lipscomb to the ASUN Gold Division Championship. ASUN Coach of the Year Kevin O'Brien led the Bisons to their sixth tournament title after defeating North Florida on Nov. 9 in Nashville. Lipscomb is scheduled to face Mississippi State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament looking for a repeat of 2018 when the Bisons defeated the Bulldogs to advance to the second round for the first time.
