UCA, FGCU & Lipscomb Earn ASUN Volleyball Weekly Awards

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – FGCU's duo of Shelby Kent and Raegan Richardson were joined by Central Arkansas' Caylan Koons and Lipscomb's Meg Mersman in earning this week's Atlantic Sun Conference Volleyball honors, announced Monday by the league office.

The Eagles began defense of their conference crown with three sweeps to begin 2024 ASUN play. Kent registered a total of 45 kills (.420) and 20 digs in wins against Stetson, Queens and West Georgia. Richardson totaled 40 assists, 18 digs and 11 services aces. Eight of her aces came against West Georgia to set a program high for a three-set contest. Mersman put together 15 total blocks in the Bisons' 2-0 start to league play at EKU and Bellarmine. After a six-block performance against the Colonels, she matched a career-high with nine blocks against the Knights. Koons logged 59 assists in four sets for the Sugar Bears last Saturday in a road victory at North Florida. The junior also recorded a double-double with a season-high 15 digs.
