JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Stetson earned three superlative recognitions while Lipscomb and North Florida claimed one apiece to highlight the 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Soccer postseason honors, announced Friday by the league office.
Charles Ahl was tabbed the ASUN Player of the Year by the league's head coaches after he appeared in all 15 games this season for Stetson. The senior midfielder netted two goals and recorded a team-high five assists while logging 1,168 minutes on the pitch. Clarence Loriot helped strengthen a Hatters back line that recorded three clean sheets this season. The 2024 Defensive Player of the Year from France logged seven games with a full 90 minutes of action. Steston's Nicolo Radaelli was named the Goalkeeper of the Year after picking up 48 saves in starts this season. He only allowed 18 goals on 145 shots faced between the pipes for the Hatters.
Lipscomb's Dan Karsten finished the season with six goals, second-best in the conference, and earned the Freshman of the Year honor. The Erfurt, Germany, native played and started in 16 matches and was the leading freshman scorer in the ASUN. He ranked this in the conference with 13 points while leading the Bisons in scoring.
After leading North Florida to a 6-7-3 overall record and the ASUN Regular Season Champonship, Jamie Davies was named the ASUN Coach of the Year. In his first season with the Ospreys, Davies guided the team to a 4-2-1 conference mark and a leauge-high 1.63 goals-per-game average. He took a program that was winless in league play last season to the No. 2 seed in this year's conference tournament.
