JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Only one spot remained to complete the 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Soccer Championship field entering Saturday's contests. The ASUN Regular Season crown was also up for grabs when the day began.
Central Arkansas opened the action on the road in Florence, Ala., where the Bears earned a 2-1 decision against North Alabama. UCA's victory put the team in position for a double-bye into the tournament. The next contest to go final saw FGCU shutout Stetson to lock up the tourney's #1 seed and claim the 2024 ASUN Regular Season Championship. The River City Rumble closed things out with North Florida earning a 3-1 victory against crosstown rival Jacksonville. With the Hatters' loss earlier in the day, the Dolphins secured the final berth in the postseason field.
The 2024 ASUN Championship begins on Thursday afternoon at the homes of Lipscomb and North Florida. Fifth-seeded EKU faces off against #8 Jacksonville with the winner taking on #4 UNF in Jacksonville on Sunday, Nov. 3. Rounding out the first round is #6 Austin Peay and #7 Bellarmine facing off in Nashville with the winner next facing #3 Lipscomb. The semifinals and championship final occur in Fort Myers, hosted by the top-seeded Eagles.
