ASUN Reveals 2023 Women's Soccer Preseason Honors

ATLANTA – The ASUN Conference announced the 2023 Women's Soccer Preseason Awards on Thursday afternoon, as voted on by the league's head coaches. Lipscomb, who garnered 10 first-place votes, was tabbed the top team entering the new season while also collecting three superlative awards.

The reigning ASUN Champion FGCU earned one first-place nod and was selected second in the 2023 Preseason Coaches Poll, followed by North Florida and Kennesaw State at third and fourth, respectively. EKU and Central Arkansas rounded out the top half of the rankings.

The 2022 ASUN Player of the Year, Lipscomb's Kelli Beiler, was chosen as the Unanimous Preseason Player of the Year while the Bison duo of Shelby Craft and Logan McFadden were tabbed Preseason Midfielder and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively. North Florida's Sofia Miliancano rounded out the superlative awards by earning Goalkeeper of the Year.

For the 12th-straight year, the ASUN took to social media to poll the fans for the conference preseason superlative awards. Kennesaw State's Tianna Rivera was named the Fan-Voted Preseason Player of the Year. Allyna Thurston of North Florida earned the Fan-Voted Preseason Defensive Player of the Year honor, while Austin Peay's Alec Baumgardt and Queens' Erica Turner were selected as the Fan-Voted Preseason Midfielder and Goalkeeper of the Year, respectively.
