#5 UCA Edges #4 Queens to Head to Semifinal Against Top Seed Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Central Arkansas defense proved too much for Queens as the Bears were able to keep the Royals scoreless throughout 90 minutes of action to earn a 1-0 victory and a trip to the Atlantic Sun Championship Semifinals.

Second Team All-ASUN selection Deon Travis gave UCA a 1-0 advantage in the 31st minute. Sohma Inchikawa settled a corner kick before finding Travis who hit the back of the net. The Bears held off the Royals for the remaining 14 minutes before heading into the half. Central Arkansas outshot Queens 13-4 in the first half and held a 5-1 advantage on corner kicks. The Royals' keeper Evan Morris tallied three saves in the first half.

In the second half of action, the Bears got off four shots within the first 10 minutes of play. The Royals' offense did put more pressure on the UCA defense getting five shots off with two on target, but the Bears stayed strong and earned their third shutout of the season.

Central Arkansas' win against Queens advances the Bears to their third-consecutive semifinal appearance where they face the top-seeded Lipscomb Bisons. The ASUN Championship Semifinal takes place on Monday, Nov. 6, at 7 PM CT in the Music City.
