FORT MYERS, Fla. - For the First time since the 1989 season, the #2 Stetson Hatters rose to the top of the ASUN Conference Women's Tennis ranks, claiming the 2022 ASUN Championship title. Stetson earned a 4-2 victory in its seventh trip to the final match since their last title.
Championship MVP Noa Cohen led the Hatters with back-to-back match-clinching Singles victories on Court 5 on Saturday and Sunday. Cohen defeated the Flames' Micaela Ode Mitre, 6-2, 6-3. The Hatters started championship morning claiming the Doubles point for the 1-0 lead after Cheri Darley and Nadejda Maslova won 6-3 on Court 2 just before Elodie Foster and Alanna DiFrancesco clinched on Court 1 (6-4).
Darley gave the Hatters a 3-0 lead with her 6-0, 6-4 win on Court 3 just before Liberty's All-Tournament Team selection, Maria Juliana Parra Romero and Tiffany Nguyen posted back-to-back victories on Courts 1 and 6 to put the Flames on the board but it was too late as Cohen's victory sealed the match. Stetson finds out its next opponent when the NCAA Selection Show takes place on Monday, May 2.

- Stetson captured its fourth championship title in program history and first since the 1989 season; the Hatters advance to their first DI Championship in Urbana, Ill. (May 19-28)
- The Hatters continue their historic season which have set program records in wins (22), winning percentage (.917) and longest win streak (9)
- Stetson's 22 wins are the second-most victories in a season by a league team, trailing only ETSU's 23 set in 2006
- Three Hatters have recorded 20-or-more victories on the season in Alanna DiFrancesco (22-1), and All-Tournament Team representatives Cheri Darley (21-1) and MVP Noa Cohen (21-1)
