Beach Volleyball All-Academic Team

ATLANTA, Ga. - The ASUN Conference announced UNCW's Ellie Bucci as the 2022 Beach Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Bucci highlighted the 10-person All-Academic Team, announced by the league office on Thursday.

An Apex, N.C., native, Bucci earned a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA majoring in Environmental Science. Bucci helped UNCW to set a new program record for wins in a single season at 21 and aided the Seahawks in earning the fourth seed in the ASUN Beach Volleyball Championship. She collected 13 wins on Court 2 this season while earning five victories in the fourth flight for UNCW. She became the first student-athlete in UNCW program history to collect the accolade.

The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. All members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
