2022 Athlon Sports' All-America Team

ATLANTA  Central Arkansas defensive lineman David Walker added yet another distinction to his list of accomplishments for the season after being named to the Athlon Sports' 2022 FCS Postseason All-America team as announced Tuesday by the publication.

A sophomore from Stuttgart, Ark., Walker was the ASUN Conference Defensive Player of the Year and is a top three finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, presented to the FCS Defensive Player of the Year. He led the ASUN and ranked second in all of FCS in tackles for loss (22, minus 107 yards) and sacks (12, minus 83 yards) during the regular season. Walker finished his first season at UCA with 66 total tackles, one pass breakup and one forced fumble, while also matching the school record for sacks in a game with 3.5 against Stephen F. Austin.

Walker, a consensus All-American, has collected All-American honors from the Associated Press (AP), Stats Perform, AFCA, Hero Sports, Phil Steele/DraftScout and FCS-ADA this season.
