UNF's Kachler Named Scholar-Athlete of the Year; @ASUNBSB All-Academic Team Announced

ATLANTA, Ga. - North Florida's Alex Kachler was tabbed the ASUN Conference Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, announced Thursday by the league office. Kachler is joined by 13 other Baseball student-athletes on the All-Academic Team.
Kachler becomes the second consecutive Osprey to take home the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award (Tanner Murphy, 2019) as the graduate student has a perfect 4.00 grade-point average as a Management major. The two-time ASUN Player of the Week, is one-of-10 finalists for the prestigious National Senior CLASS Award presented annually to the player who exemplifies the characteristics of what comprises a well-rounded student-athlete. Kachler's .370 batting average ranks second in the conference this season to go along with 57 hits, 39 runs, 12 doubles, seven home runs, 35 RBI, .584 slugging percentage, 30 walks and .468 on-base percentage. Between April 25-28, he broke the UNF record with eight hits in eight consecutive at-bats and tied the program record with five hits in a game against Jacksonville on April 25. Kachler posted a season-best 12-game hitting streak from March 23-April 23.
The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom and exemplify the ASUN's mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
