#ASUNBVB All-Conference Released; Stetson's Duo of Costa and Perales Voted Pair of the Year

Beach Volleyball All-Conference Honors

ATLANTA, Ga. - For the fifth year in a row, Stetson claimed the ASUN Conference Beach Volleyball Pair of the Year as Ana Costa and Carly Perales earned the honor as voted on by the league's head coaches. Coastal Carolina's Irena Drobnjak also highlighted the All-Conference team as she was named Freshman of the Year. North Florida's Kristen Wright was selected by her peers as the Coach of the Year after leading her squad to the program's fourth ASUN Conference Championship title.

Stetson's Ana Costa and Carly Perales earned the program's sixth ASUN Pair of the Year honor as the duo posted a 23-9 record with 10 of those wins being against nationally-ranked opponents. Costa and Perales played the entire season in the top flight winning 17 out of 23 matches in straight sets. The tandem went on a 10-match winning streak and was the first ASUN duo to win ASUN Pair of the Week four times in a single season. Throughout the season, the two Hatters defeated the No. 1 pair from No. 1 FSU along with duos from No. 9 TCU, No. 13/14/15 South Carolina, No. 13/14 FAU, No. 17/18 Georgia State and No. 20 FGCU. After a successful season, Perales is the first ASUN player to achieve 100 dual match victories. Both Hatters were named to the ASUN All-Tournament Team.

Irena Drobnjak becomes the first Freshman of the Year from Coastal Carolina in ASUN history. The Serbia native posted a 21-7 record and battled in the top slot all season with Sarlota Svobodova recording a season-best eight-match winning streak with wins over Jacksonville, UNCW, Charleston, Erskine, Carson-Newman and Mercer. Six of the freshman's seven losses came against nationally-ranked opponents. Over the last 10 matches, she went 7-3 in the No. 1 slot and helped advance Coastal Carolina to a 2-2 record in the ASUN Championship while being named to the All-Tournament Team.

After leading North Florida to its fourth ASUN Championship title and first since 2016, Head Coach Kristen Wright received the Coach of the Year nod. She led the Ospreys to a 24-10 record while the team received votes in the AVCA Poll five times during the regular season. North Florida recently received its first national ranking of the season coming in at No. 20 in the AVCA Poll on April 27. Throughout the tournament, North Florida had a tough path playing in six matches as the Ospreys went 5-1 to claim the trophy.
