Men's @ASUN_Golf All-Conference Announced; UNF's Gabrelcik Voted Golfer & Freshman of the Year

Postseason Honors and Awards

ATLANTA, Ga. - North Florida's Nick Gabrelcik highlighted the ASUN Conference Men's Golf Postseason All-Conference honors being named both the Golfer and Freshman of the Year as voted on by the league's head coaches. FGCU Head Coach Andrew Danna earned the Coach of the Year accolade.

Gabrelcik earned both the Golfer and Freshman of the Year accolade as he is currently ranked second in the nation among all collegiate golfers. In his first collegiate season, he earned five Golfer of the Week awards while capturing individual titles at three events. Gabrelcik played in all eight events for UNF this season and finished in the top 25 in every event with seven top-10 showings and six top-five performances while leading the team with a 69.25 stroke average, the lowest in program history. He posted under-par scores in 17-of-24 rounds and has only finished over par three times for a total of five shots. At the ASUN Championship, he earned All-Tournament Team honors while finishing runner-up. The Trinity, Fla., native is a semifinalist for the Ben Hogan Award.

Danna captures his first Coach of the Year accolade after leading his FGCU squad to a second-place finish at the ASUN Men's Golf Championship. Under his guidance, FGCU saw its first-ever individual medalist at the ASUN Championship in Van Holmgren. The Eagles saw their best-ever score in the championship finishing with a 54-hole score of 845. During the regular season, his team saw five top-five finishes and one tournament title at the Old Corkscrew Intercollegiate.
