Jewett-Giles Becomes Third Eagle Named @ASUNWBB Scholar-Athlete of the Year
2019-20 ASUN All-Academic Team
ATLANTA, Ga. - FGCU's Keri Jewett-Giles was named the 2020 ASUN Conference Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, announced Friday by the league office at the awards luncheon. Jewett-Giles is joined by eight other Women's Basketball student-athletes on the All-Academic Team.
Jewett-Giles owns a 3.90 cumulative GPA as she is pursuing her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and is a member of the CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District team. She previously earned her Bachelor's Degree in Child & Youth Studies last spring. She is the third different Eagle to earn the accolade joining Sarah Hansen (2012-14) and Stepanie Haas (2015-16).
The Fort Myers, Fla., native also earned the ASUN Player of the Year title as she averaged 16.7 PPG for the season adding 3.9 RPG, 3.6 APG and 2.6 SPG. She helped FGCU earn its 10th ASUN Regular Season title in program history en route to a 15-1 record and No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom and exemplify the ASUN's mission of Building Winners for Life. All members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
