NJIT's Walsh Highlights Eight-Person @ASUN_MBB All-Academic Team

2019-20 ASUN All-Academic Team


ATLANTA, Ga. - NJIT's Reilly Walsh was selected as the ASUN Conference Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, announced Monday by the league office. Walsh is joined by seven other Men's Basketball student-athletes on the All-Academic Team.

Walsh, a three-time All-Academic selection, owns a 4.00 cumulative GPA as he works on his Master's of Business Administration in Finance in his final season with the Highlanders. He becomes the first Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year from NJIT and joins teammate Shyquan Gibbs as three-time selections for the Highlanders.

The Staten Island, N.Y., native has started in 26-of-29 games this season for NJIT as he is averaging 5.2 PPG, 3.4 RPG and 1.5 APG. He scored a season-high 15 points vs. Lipscomb on Feb. 13, and has reached double-figure scoring six times this season.

The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom and exemplify the ASUN's mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
