ATLANTA, Ga. - The 2019-20 academic year is officially underway with the fall sports of Men's and Women's Cross Country, Men's and Women's Soccer and Volleyball.

With less than 50 days until the start of the  ASUN Men's Soccer Championship, conference play gets started Saturday.  Six teams are in action as Liberty travels to North Florida. The Stetson Hatters host the NJIT Highlanders, and the reigning conference champion Lipscomb Bisons welcome Jacksonville to Nashville.

The Hatters lead all ASUN squads with four victories entering play this weekend while five of the seven league teams have a .500 record or better. The Highlanders will take the pitch with back-to-back player and defensive players of the week in Rene White and Samuel Reisgys.

The Flames are riding a two-match winning streak, including a shutout over VMI, into its conference opener at North Florida. The Ospreys enter Saturday's match coming off a 1-1 double-overtime draw against nationally-ranked No. 22 FIU.

Of the seven ASUN teams, only Jacksonville and Lipscomb have netted a goal in every game this season.  Those two teams will duel Saturday as JU goalkeeper Matt Levy is second in the conference with 28 saves and the Bisons' netminder Michael Sibley boasts the third-best save percentage in the ASUN.
